Bayern coach Hansi Flick confirms that Philippe Coutinho will start against Hoffenheim

Philippe Coutinho will be in Bayern München's starting eleven for Saturday's clash with Hoffenheim, Hansi Flick has announced.
Bayern München coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that Philippe Coutinho will be in his line-up for Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Hoffenheim.

"Philippe will definitely start. The game gives him the chance to settle more into the team. He always trains very well. I hope things fall into place and he shows the quality he has," Flick said at the pre-match press conference, as quoted by the club.

Flick and Bayern will have to manage without Kingsley Coman and Robert Lewandowski who both picked up injuries against Chelsea in midweek.

While Coman is expected to make his return shortly after the weekend, Lewandowski will be sidelined for at least four weeks, and Flick now has to find a way to replace the striker.

"Robert has shown his qualities, and not just in front of goal. He fits very well into our team and initiates our pressing when we're playing against the ball. It's essential that we pull closer together as a team," the Bayern coach said and added:

"There are many considerations. But it's always good to leave your opponent a bit puzzled by not giving out too much information. Gnabry is an option for the striker position, but so is Thomas Müller. I'll leave it open until tomorrow. Joshua Zirkzee is part of our thoughts as well."
