Alaba recently admitted that he can 'basically imagine taking a different path', with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid reportedly interested in acquiring his services.
Sport1 now claims that the Austrian international is indeed considering a move to a different country, but that a contract extension with Bayern beyond 2021 is certainly also an option for him.
Bayern will probably have to make the Austrian international one of their top earners if they want to keep hold of him.
The 27-year-old's representatives are understood to have opened talks with the Bayern bosses, but the negotiations have been put on hold due to the corona crisis.
Should it turn out to be impossible to reach an agreement, Bayern will most likely sell Alaba in the summer to cash in on him.
