Chelsea considering Bayern München goalkeeper Manuel Neuer

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard dropped Kepa, the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, from the starting line up after a decline in performance. Now, Manuel Neuer is being linked with a move to 'The Blues'.
According to the reliable Bild reporter Christian Falk, Chelsea are interested in the captain for both Bundesliga club Bayern München and the Germany national team.

With the worst save percentage in the Premier League, it is safe to say that Kepa did not live up to the expectations since he moved from Athletic to Chelsea in a €80 million deal.

At the same time, Neuer’s contract at Bayern Munich expires in 2021 and he has yet to come to an agreement with the club over a new deal.

It is almost nine years since Manuel Neuer left boyhood club Schalke to join Bayern Munich. A few months ago, Alexander Nübel, labeled by many by many as "the next Manuel Neuer", did the same.

With the 33-year-old wanting a longer deal than the Bundesliga leaders are currently offering and the signing of one of the biggest talents at the position, it does not sound impossible that a deal can be made.

But Chelsea are not the dominant factor they used to be, so it may not be as lucrative for Neuer to join them, especially considering that he is still an important player at Bayern, and they seem to be far more realistic contenders to win the Champions League in the foreseeable future.
