Kevin Kampl's contract talks with RB Leipzig put on ice

Contract talks between RB Leipzig and Kevin Kampl are on hold for the time being.
Kevin Kampl says his contract talks with RB Leipzig have been put on ice due to the coronavirus outbreak.

"The crisis is blocking everything right now. It's difficult to meet for contract talks at such an extraordinary time when nobody really knows how things will continue. For now, we have to try to keep everything going. The rest will come automatically. I'm not worried about it at all, I have a thousand other things on my mind," Kampl told Kicker.

The 29-year-old, who is out of contract in 2021, makes it clear that he feels very comfortable in Leipzig. At the same time, however, he doesn't want to rule out joining a club outside of Germany.

"I know what I have in Leipzig and how well me and my family are doing here. That's what I've told the club. We feel extremely well here in Leipzig, and with two small children, you think a bit differently than in your early 20's. But of course, at 29 years of age, you also think about whether you want to have another adventure and play in a different league," the midfielder said.

Kampl joined RB Leipzig from Bayer Leverkusen in 2017.
