Hertha BSC midfielder Santiago Ascacibar has revealed he got Diego Maradona tattooed on his calf when he was just 13 years old.

"I got it when I was 13 years old. Diego's above everything in Argentina," the Argentine international told Sport Bild when asked about the tattoo.

"My father's a Maradona fan, and he said he loved it. My mother was against it. But I did it anyway," he added.

Asked if he likes Maradona more than Lionel Messi, the 23-year-old responded:

"You can't compare the two. They've each been the best of their time. I dream of playing behind Messi in midfield for the national team. The next Copa America will be played in Argentina. To be there would be a dream for me."

Ascacibar, 23, has made four appearances for Argentina.
