Atalanta's Robin Gosens could possibly have made his international debut last month if the coronavirus outbreak hadn't led to the cancellation of Germany's games against Spain and Italy.

Speaking in an interview with Kicker, Germany coach Joachim Löw reveals he was considering calling up the 25-year-old for the first time.

"We were considering calling up Robin Gosens for the games in March. We would have loved to get to know him in person," Löw said and added that the Atalanta defender has been under observation for a while.

"It's a shame that nothing has come out of it for now, but we'll keep an eye on him as soon as the ball starts rolling again," he continued.

Gosens has made 30 appearances for Atalanta this season, racking up eight goals and five assists.
