Report: AC Milan and Roma have made contact over Mario Götze

AC Milan and AS Roma have reportedly made contact over the potential signing of Mario Götze. Inter are said to be interested, too.
AC Milan and AS Roma have both made contact over the potential signing of Mario Götze as they weigh up their options ahead of the summer transfer market, according to Sky Germany, who claims Inter are interested as well.

Götze's contract with Borussia Dortmund expires at the end of the season, and he is said to be keen on a move to Italy.

AC Milan have previously been linked with Götze and have apparently reignited their interest in the offensive midfielder after turning down the chance to sign him in January, at which point they chose to pursue other targets.

AS Roma have reportedly lined him up as an alternative to Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is on loan from Arsenal until the summer. The Italian capital club are satisfied with the Arsenal loanee, but aren't sure if it will be possible to keep him beyond the season. Should he leave, Götze could come in to replace him.

Inter bolstered their midfield with the signing of Christian Eriksen in January, which means Götze probably won't be their top priority this summer. Nevertheless, Sky claims that the 'Nerazzurri' won't rule out signing the 27-year-old, because he will be available on a free transfer.
