Report: Angelino wants to return to Manchester City

RB Leipzig want to keep Angelino, but may not be able to hold on to the Manchester City loanee.
Angelino is keen on a return to Manchester City when his loan deal with RB Leipzig expires at the end of the season, according to Kicker.

RB Leipzig have signaled an interest in keeping the 23-year-old, who has impressed in Germany following his loan move in January.

However, due to the corona crisis, 'Die Roten Bullen' no longer seem likely to take advantage of the purchase option of around €30 million, which is included in the defender's loan deal.

If Leipzig were to trigger the clause, they would have to convince the player to stay first. Because as Angelino recently emphasized in an interview with the Spanish newspaper La Voz de Galicia, he hasn't given up hope on becoming a regular starter at Manchester City.

"I'm still a 'Citizen', and I'm not giving up on finding my place there," he said.

If Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola isn't able to offer Angelino the prospect of regular first team action, Kicker believes he could spend another season on loan at RB Leipzig.
