Emil Forsberg torn over RB Leipzig future

Emil Forsberg has opened up on his future at RB Leipzig.
Emil Forsberg admits he's torn between finding a new challenge abroad and staying at RB Leipzig.

On the one hand, he would like to try something new, but on the other hand, he feels very comfortable at the club that he has represented since January 2015.

"Of course you think about your future. But it's hard to influence it now. We'll see. I've always been open about wanting to try something new, but I still love Leipzig, the club and the fans at the same time," Forsberg told Swedish media outlet SVT and continued:

"I feel like a part of the club, and we have an open dialogue. I have two years left of my contract, and I'm as professional as always in training every day. So we'll have to see what will happen."

The 28-year-old admits he's attracted to England, Italy and Spain, but says he will leave it up to his agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, to identify potential future destinations.

"I have always said that the Premier League is fine, Serie A is fine and La Liga is fine. There are amazing clubs in all of those leagues, but we'll have to see. I've been talking a lot with Hasan Cetinkaya. He was responsible for getting me here, and you'll have to ask him where he'll take me next time," Forsberg said.

"I've never been afraid of saying that I'm a good footballer, who can play nearly everywhere. It's not something you should be ashamed of. I believe in myself a lot, and I think that I can play for most clubs, but whether that's realistic is a different question," he added.

The Swedish international has made 27 appearances for 'Die Roten Bullen' this season, racking up 10 goals and four assists.
