Leverkusen still 'confident' Charles Aranguiz will sign a new deal amid Bayern links
Bild has played down a report from Chile claiming that Charles Aranguiz is set to join Bayern München. On the contrary, he is understood to be keen on extending his contract with Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer Leverkusen remain hopeful that Charles Aranguiz will extend his contract, which runs out this summer, despite speculation linking the midfielder with Bayern München.
"We are still confident that we will be able to conclude the deal with 'Charly'," Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes told Bild.
On Thursday, the Chilean radio station 'Radio Futuro' claimed that the central midfielder is set to join Bayern München on a free transfer at the end of the season.
However, according to Bild, there is nothing to the rumor. On the contrary, Aranguiz is keen on extending his stay at BayArena.
In fact, Bild claims that the only reason Aranguiz hasn't signed a contract extension yet is that he is waiting for his agent, who is currently stuck in Chile due to the coronavirus.
