Mainz boss: Jean-Philippe Mateta has attracted interest from 'many top clubs'
Mainz boss Rouven Schröder claims that 'many top clubs' are keeping tabs on Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Jean-Philippe Mateta has plenty of suitors, according to Mainz sporting director Rouven Schröder.
'Die Nullfünfer' will do what they can to hold on to the 22-year-old, though.
"The fact is that many top clubs are interested in him, and the demand for him will not drop despite corona," Schröder told Sport1.
"But it's also clear that we absolutely want to keep him," he added.
Mateta has scored two goals in 10 appearances for Mainz this season after fighting his way back from a long-term injury.
