Swedish international star Emil Forsberg has been linked with a move to AS Roma over the summer, and now the RB Leipzig player has confirmed that the Serie A side have shown an interest in him.

"It's flattering that clubs are showing an interest, and I know about it. But at the moment, I'm just concentrating on Leipzig," Forsberg told Bild.

The 26-year-old told Swedish newspaper Expressen in June that he's ready for a new challenge. However, Forsberg won't rule out staying and says he is happy that RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick will also serve as the club's head coach in the coming season.

"I still have four years in Leipzig. And after the summer break, a lot has changed. Ralf (Rangnick) is now the coach here. That's good news for me. We have a very good relationship and often talk about life and the world. I appreciate him very much," Forsberg said.

Rangnick has previously ruled out that Forsberg will be allowed to leave the club this summer.

"For me, Emil Forsberg is one of the top performers, so I don't think for a second that Emil could leave the club. You can ask me 10 more times, but my answer will always be the same," Rangnick told MDR in May.

Forsberg joined RB Leipzig from Malmö in 2015. Since then, he has made 121 appearances for the club with 21 goals and 37 assists to his name.
