Report: Bayern put Sergino Dest move on hold
Sergino Dest is unlikely to join Bayern München from Ajax this summer, according to a report from the Netherlands.
Bayern München have been heavily linked with the signing of Sergino Dest from Ajax in recent months.
However, according to Voetbal International journalist Marco Timmer, the German champions have put the move on hold amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"I was in contact with [Ajax director of football] Marc Overmars about a possible transfer. He said, 'I expect it's going to be okay, it's just going take a little longer'. But that was before the coronavirus," Timmer said and added:
"I understand it has been put on hold by Bayern. I've also been in touch with his management. 'No, it's not going ahead,' I've been told. That means he's likely to stay in Amsterdam for another year."
Dest, a 19-year-old right-back, is under contract with Ajax until 2022.
