Report: Thiago agrees new Bayern deal

Bayern München are understood to have agreed a contract extension with Thiago Alcantara.
Thiago Alcantara has agreed a contract extension with Bayern München, according to a report from Bild.

The report claims that the German champions plan to announce the extension of the midfielder's current deal, which runs until 2021, in the course of this week.

Bild doesn't reveal the length of Thiago's new deal, but it's conceivable that he could pen an extension until 2023, just as Thomas Müller and Bayern coach Hansi Flick did last month.

The 29-year-old recently told Catalan newspaper La Vanguardia that it would be 'wonderful' to spend the rest of his career in Munich.

He joined Bayern from FC Barcelona in 2013 and has gone on to make 227 appearances with 31 goals and 37 assists to his name.
