RB Leipzig are considering Freiburg star Luca Waldschmidt as a possible replacement for Timo Werner, according to Sport Bild.
Should Werner depart the club this summer, RB Leipzig would prefer to bring in Milot Rashica from Werder Bremen instead, but 'Die Roten Bullen' aren't willing to pay his €38 million release clause.
Therefore, the club have started looking for alternatives and have identified Waldschmidt as a possible option, as per Sport Bild.
The 23-year-old, who has also been linked with Chelsea, is understood to have €23 million release clause in his contract with Freiburg, which expires in 2022.
