Herbert Hainer: Bayern still need to iron out 'a few details' with Alaba, Neuer and Thiago

Bayern München still need to work out a few details with Manuel Neuer, David Alaba and Thiago Alcantara before the trio can sign new contracts, says club president Herbert Hainer.
Bayern München president Herbert Hainer has provided an update on the club's contract talks with Manuel Neuer, David Alaba and Thiago Alcantara.

The German champions are eager to keep the three star players, who are all out contract in 2021, but are yet to reach an agreement with any of them.

"All players appreciate playing for FC Bayern. They want to win titles. This also applies to Manuel Neuer. That's why we want to keep him, David Alaba and Thiago. But it's not only up to us. The players also have to agree. Some are considering whether they want to play somewhere else before they retire. That is their right. But I'm optimistic," Hainer told Sport1 Doppelpass on Sunday.

According to Hainer, there are still 'a few details' to be sorted out between Bayern and each of the players.

"It's sometimes about money, sometimes about the length of the deal and sometimes about regular playing time," he said.

FC Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on Sunday that he's confident that Manuel Neuer will be signing a new deal in the near future.

But after Bayern's 2-0 win over Union Berlin, Neuer emphasized in an interview with Sky that the parties are "not there yet at all".
