The French striker, who scored in Gladbach's 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt last week, was already being linked with a move to England before making the move to Germany from OGC Nice in 2018.
"Even before I came to Mönchengladbach from Nice, there had been inquiries from the Premier League. But I thought Gladbach were the better move, and it turned out to be the right decision," he recently said.
Plea, 27, has made 29 appearances this season with nine goals and eight assists to his name. His contract with Gladbach runs until 2023.
