Florian Kohfeldt: Leverkusen defeat isn't a 'knockout blow'

"We will stay positive and get this game out of our system," Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt said after Monday's 1-4 loss to Bayer Leverkusen.
Werder Bremen must remain positive despite Monday's 1-4 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen at Weserstadion, says head coach Florian Kohfeldt.

Speaking after the final whistle, Kohfeldt said his team have to move on from the defeat, which marked 17th-placed Werder's seventh straight league game without a victory.

"It was an open game until their third goal, but not a good one. We didn't have any rhythm on the ball, but we didn't give away so much," Kohfeldt said in a post-match interview, as cited by the club.

"One positive for me is that we created more chances than we were doing before the break. We said before today that tonight's game wasn't a final. It's not a knockout blow. We will stay positive and get this game out of our system. It's key that we maintain confidence in our attacking game," he added.

In their next game, Kohfeldt and Werder face Freiburg away from home.
