Hertha BSC took their second win out of two under new head coach Bruno Labbadia as they thrashed city rivals Union Berlin 4-0 behind closed doors at the Olympiastadion on Friday.

The hosts created a handful of good opportunities during the first 45 minutes, but struggled to break the deadlock in a first half that saw Union goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz make a number of excellent saves.

Gikiewicz, however, was left with no chance after 51 minutes, when Vedad Ibisevic powered a header into the net following a good cross from Marvin Plattenhardt.

Just a minute later, Dodi Lukebakio doubled the lead for the hosts as he rounded the keeper to put the ball into the empty net after he was played in behind by Ibisevic.

Matheus Cunha effectively killed off the game with about an hour on the clock, beautifully slotting the ball into the far bottom corner, before Dedryck Boyata added another one, when he headed home after a corner to make it 4-0 after 77 minutes.

With their win, Hertha climb to 10th in the Bundesliga and are now four points clear of Union, who sit 12th.
