Schalke 04 coach David Wagner has suggested that he might change his goalkeeper for Saturday's home game against Werder Bremen.
Wagner made it clear a few months ago that he wanted to keep faith in Markus Schubert at the expense of the club's former captain Alexander Nübel, who will be joining Bayern München in the summer.
But speaking ahead of Saturday's game, Wagner refused to guarantee that Schubert will keep his spot in goal after failing to impress in recent weeks.
"There are no guarantees for anyone. That's not appropriate in our situation. Of course I had a talk with him. He has been partly responsible for a few of the goals we have conceded in recent weeks. All players must perform to justify that they deserve to play," Wagner said, according to Sportbuzzer.
Having lost all their three games following the return of the Bundesliga, Schalke are now winless in 10 league games.
