Oliver Bierhoff not expecting Germany recall for in-form Thomas Müller

Oliver Bierhoff doesn't expect Thomas Müller to come back into the national team.
Germany boss Oliver Bierhoff has made it clear that there are no plans to recall Thomas Müller to the national team despite the 30-year-old's excellent form for Bayern München.

Along with Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng, Müller was axed from the national team by Germany coach Joachim Löw in March last year.

Some have suggested that Müller deserves to be brought back into the squad following a string of impressive performances since Hansi Flick was appointed Bayern coach in November, but Bierhoff doesn't expect Löw to change his mind.

"I'm very happy for Thomas that he has been playing so well recently. But 'Jogi' has made his decision very clear. He wants to stick with the players, who were there last time, and who convinced us. I think you have to acknowledge that he has made a tough decision that he stands by, putting faith in the young players," Bierhoff told Kicker.

Müller has made 100 appearances for the German national team, scoring 38 goals.
