Report: Roman Bürki on the verge of signing a new deal with Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set to extend the contract of Roman Bürki amid speculation linking the goalkeeper with Chelsea.
Roman Bürki is set to sign a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund in the near future, according to a report from Kicker.

Chelsea have been rumored to be interested in Bürki, but it appears he is going nowhere this summer, with the report claiming that Dortmund have reached an agreement in principle with the 29-year-old on a contract extension until 2023 at least.

Bürki and the club opened talks over a new deal back in January, but their negotiations were interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic and have dragged on.

BVB sporting director Michael Zorc recently confirmed to Kicker that the parties have held 'good talks'.

Dortmund signed Bürki from Freiburg in 2015, and he has since gone on to make 204 appearances for the club.
