Report: Kevin Kampl poised to sign new RB Leipzig deal

Kevin Kampl is said to be nearing a new deal with RB Leipzig.
Kevin Kampl is on the verge of penning a contract extension with RB Leipzig, according to Kicker.

The German football magazine claims that negotiations over an extension of his current deal, which runs until 2021, are in the final stages.

Towards the end of May, Kicker claimed that the parties were discussing the length of the new deal.

At the time, Kampl reportedly aimed for a two-year contract extension until 2023 while RB Leipzig boss Markus Krösche was holding out for a one-year deal with an option to extend for a further year. In the meantime, the parties seem to have found an agreement.

Kampl, 29, joined 'Die Roten Bullen' from Bayer Leverkusen in 2017.
