Borussia Dortmund are expected to keep faith in Lucien Favre as head coach for the 2020/21 season, according to Sport Bild.

Favre's future has been questioned after he failed to live up to the club's self-declared goal of winning the Bundesliga title this season, guiding his team to a second-place finish for the second season in a row.

Former Bayern coach Niko Kovac and RB Salzburg coach Jesse Marsch have been touted as possible replacements for Favre.

However, according to Sport Bild, none of the available candidates are more appealing to Dortmund than Favre.

Their dream candidate is Julian Nagelsmann, but he only joined RB Leipzig last summer and can not be pried away from Red Bull Arena.

Therefore, Favre will most likely be allowed to fulfill his contract, which expires next summer.
