Schalke 04 midfielder Weston McKennie has attracted interest from at least four clubs from the English Premier League, including Everton and Newcastle, according to a report from Bild stating that he would be available for around €25 million.

Sport1 recently reported that the 21-year-old is keen on leaving Schalke, claiming that Hertha BSC are interested in signing him after receiving €150 million from investor Lars Windhorst.

When asked about McKennie, Schalke head of sport Jochen Schneider told Sport1:

"A departure isn't out of the question. I can't say anything with 100 percent certainty at the moment. The fact is that we extended Weston's contract until 2024 a year ago."

McKennie has previously admitted that he dreams of a move to England, telling Goal and DAZN in May:

"For me, the next goal is England. It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League. I want to join a club that fights for a place in Europe – the Champions League or the Europa League. For now, I'm happy at Schalke because I get to play."

The versatile midfielder made 32 appearances for Schalke in the 2019/20 season, racking up three goals and an assit.
