HSV part ways with Hecking
Dieter Hecking has been dismissed as Hamburger SV coach.
Dieter Hecking has been relieved of his duties as Hamburger SV coach, the club have confirmed.
HSV have parted ways with the former Gladbach coach after he failed to win promotion from the 2. Bundesliga, leading the club to fourth place.
"I want to give the club’s hierarchy the chance to take the necessary steps in different circumstances, in a post-corona world. I would like to thank all of my colleagues, the employees at HSV, the team and the club’s hierarchy for the year gone by. I regret that we didn’t reach our goal,” said Hecking in a statement.
The 55-year-old took over as HSV coach prior to the 2019/20 season.
