RB Leipzig announce the signing of Benjamin Henrichs on loan

Benjamin Henrichs has joined RB Leipzig on loan from AS Monaco.
RB Leipzig have signed Benjamin Henrichs from AS Monaco on a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.

"We've had our eye on Benjamin Henrichs for a while and are delighted that he will join us next season," said RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche in a statement and added:

"Even though he is only 23, he already has a lot of experience, both in Germany and internationally. His versatility in defence will give us more options when it comes to our tactical approach."

Henrichs, who joined Monaco from Bayer Leverkusen in 2018, commented:

"After two interesting years in France, I'm delighted to be back in the Bundesliga. RB Leipzig are one of the most exciting clubs in Germany, as well as in Europe.

"The club has ambitious goals and the team plays a clear style of football that I was already impressed by in my four games against them with Leverkusen."

Kicker has reported that RB Leipzig have an option to sign the full-back permanently for around €15 million.
