Daichi Kamada has received praise from Eintracht Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter, who is delighted that he chose to keep the 23-year-old for the 2019/20 season instead of sending him out on loan.

Eintracht Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter has praised Daichi Kamada after the midfielder made his breakthrough at Commerzbank-Arena in the past season, playing 47 games with 10 goals and nine assists to his name.

"Daichi is a brilliant player. Our analysts call him a good 'interpreter of space'. He moves between the lines really well. All in all, he played a really good season," Hütter told Kicker.

Kamada spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Belgian side Sint-Truidense VV, and Frankfurt were actually planning to send him out on loan again.

However, it quickly became clear to Hütter that the 23-year-old had taken a huge step forward in his development.

"Of course we followed his path and his goals in Belgium, but our initial thought was to send him out on loan again. After three days of training, we looked at each other and said, 'That's not the Daichi from before'," Hütter said and added:

"We could have let him go, but I told [sporting CEO] Fredi Bobic that it was better to keep him."

Then, Hütter had a conversation with Kamada, telling the Japanese midfielder:

"I have the feeling that you will play many games. I like the way you play. You have really developed. I'd like you to stay here. Mentally, he was already somewhere else at that point," Hütter recalls.

Now, Frankfurt are hopeful it will possible to extend Kamada's contract, which expires in 2021.

"It's all on the table. I assume that Daichi will sign a long-term contract in July," Fredi Bobic said last week.
