Julian Nagelsmann praises Diego Simeone ahead of RB Leipzig's clash with Atlético Madrid

"I admire Diego Simeone for his clear line, which he has been following for years and with which he is always successful," says RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann.
RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann has praised the coaching style of Diego Simeone ahead of his team's clash with Atlético Madrid in next month's Champions League quarter-finals.

Speaking in an interview with Sport Bild, Nagelsmann says he respects Simeone for always sticking to the his philosophy, which relies on hard work, physicality, defensive compactness and counter-attacks.

"I admire Diego Simeone for his clear line, which he has been following for years and with which he is always successful," Nagelsmann said in an interview with Sport Bild and added:

"I think anyone who plays like him should have a hard time communicating his idea to the players after two or three years. After all, his style isn't exactly pleasant for the opponents, neither is it pleasant for his own players because of the intensity and high discipline required.

"But his players still always put his ideas into practice and follow him. That means that as a coach he must have a special gift for communicating his ideas and leading his team. When a coach succeeds in doing that, I'm impressed," Nagelsmann said.

Simeone has lead Atlético to plenty of silverware since he was appointed coach in 2011, including the La Liga title as well as two Europa League trophies.
