Florian Niederlechner: 'I'm not Lewandowski or Werner'
Florian Niederlechner has reflected on his 2019/20 campaign.
Augsburg striker Florian Niederlechner is delighted with his 2019/20 season, which saw him score a personal best of 13 goals and make eight assists in the Bundesliga.
"For me personally, it went great. My goal-scoring record was amazing. Even when I didn't score, I was able to put in some very good performances," the Augsburg striker said in an interview with Sport Bild and added:
"I went through a barren spell, but I'm not [Robert] Lewandowski or [Timo] Werner for whom something like that probably doesn't happen. I'm just Niederlechner. It's normal that I don't score every game.
"As a team, we knew that it would be a difficult season because we've begun an upheaval, but in the end we absolutely deserved to stay in the league."
Augsburg finished 15th in the Bundesliga.
