Dietmar Hamann urges Werder to bring Max Kruse back

Dietmar Hamann believes Werder Bremen would be wise to re-sign Max Kruse if possible.
Werder Bremen are looking into the possibility of bringing Max Kruse back to the Weserstadion, according to Sport Bild.

The 32-year-old, who left Werder to join Fenerbahce last summer, has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga after his contract with the Turkish side has been terminated.

And should he be interested in returning to Werder, who narrowly avoided relegation last season, the club should do all they can to bring him back, argues former German international Dietmar Hamann.

"If Kruse could imagine a return, Werder should bring him back," Hamann said in an interview with the Weser-Kurier and added:

"You need people who can lead the way in difficult phases. And Max is such a person.

"It's easier to make the second, third or fourth signing if other players know that Kruse is already there."

Kruse has scored 35 goals in 94 games for Werder in the past.
