Leroy Sané explains decision to come to Bayern

Leroy Sané has opened up on why he wanted to join Bayern München from Manchester City.
On Thursday, Leroy Sané was officially presented as a Bayern München player at a press conference.

Among other things, the 24-year-old was asked about his decision to join Bayern from Manchester City and if any of his teammates from the German national team tried to influence him to come to Allianz Arena.

"Joshua Kimmich was the most annoying. He liked to call me nearly every day to find out what the latest update was," Sané said with a smile and continued:

"It was clear to me that everyone at the club wanted this transfer to happen. That gave me a really good feeling. I thought it was the best step forward for me in my career, and in the end, it was the only real solution for me.

"I wanted to do something new, a new challenge. Of course it was clear to me that if I left Manchester City, it had to be for a club that have the chance of winning the Champions League. Bayern are certainly one of those clubs," he said.

Sané has signed a contract until 2025 with Bayern.
