SC Freiburg goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow has been linked with a move to Schalke 04 for weeks, with reports suggesting that it's only a matter of time before the 28-year-old will complete his move to Veltins-Arena.

But Freiburg sporting director Klemens Hartenbach insists that Schwolow's future hasn't been sorted out yet.

"Alex's future is definitely not clear," Klemens Hartenbach told Badische Zeitung.

According to reports, Schalke are unable to pay Schwolow's release clause of €8 million in one go.

The 28-year-old has attracted interest from a number of other clubs as well, but is said to prefer a move to Schalke.
