Report: Gladbach lead the race for Barcelona youngster Pedri

Gladbach appear to be favorites to sign FC Barcelona's Pedri, who has reportedly also attracted interest from Bayern München.
Borussia Mönchengladbach have emerged as front-runners to sign FC Barcelona youngster Pedri, according to Sky Germany.

The German media outlet claims that Gladbach have held talks with Barcelona about taking the 17-year-old on loan for two seasons.

In an interview with GladbachLIVE last week, Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl confirmed the club's interest in the winger.

However, 'Die Fohlen' could face competition from Bayern München, who are also understood to be interested in Pedri.

According to Sky, the German champions have made contact with the winger, but Gladbach are leading the race for his signature.

Pedri spent last season on loan at UD Las Palmas, scoring four goals and making seven assists in 36 games in the Spanish LaLiga2.
