Ilkay Gündogan expects a lot from Germany teammate Kai Havertz, whom he believes is already a better player than former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack 'in terms of playing ability'.

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündogan has sung the praises of Germany teammate Kai Havertz, who is being linked with a move to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen.
"I expect great things from him. Kai's potential is unlimited. He brings a lot with him, and it's now up to him to use his enormous talent. He has this calmness and composure on the ball, and he's also a level-headed guy off the pitch," Gündogan told Sport Bild.
Havertz has been likened to former Germany international Michael Ballack, but Gündogan believes the 21-year-old is a different kind of player to the former Chelsea midfielder.
"In my opinion, Havertz is even better than Ballack in terms of playing ability. But they are two very different guys," Gündogan said and added:
"Ballack was known for his aggressiveness and mentality on the pitch. He was a player type of the previous generation, when people still said that you need a 'dirty pig' - in a positive sense - on the pitch. Kai is not like that at all. He doesn't intentionally foul or lay a marker with a yellow card."
