VfL Wolfsburg are out of the Europa League after a last-16 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.

After losing the first leg 1-2 prior to the suspension of the Europa League, 'Die Wölfe' fell to a 0-3 defeat in tonight's return leg after conceding three late goals, losing 1-5 on aggregate.

Both teams were reduced to 10 men as Shakhtar's Davit Khocholava was shown a straight red card after 68 minutes before Wolfsburg's John Anthony Brooks was shown his second yellow card two minutes later.

Two other Bundesliga teams, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt, are still in the Europa League and play their second legs on Thursday.

Leverkusen won their first læst-16 tie 3-1 against Rangers away while Frankfurt suffered a 0-3 loss at home against Basel.
