At least 50 centre-backs have been offered to Schalke today

Apparently, more than 50 central defenders have been offered to Schalke 04 today following the sale of Thilo Kehrer to Paris Saint-Germain.
Yesterday, it was announced the Schalke 04 have agreed a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for central defender Thilo Kehrer who will make the move to Paris for €37 million.

With the deal, it became known all over the world that Schalke now sit on a large pile of money and could be looking for a replacement for Kehrer. Therefore, more than 50 centre-backs have been offered to the club just today, WAZ understands.

However, Schalke are still to decide if a replacement is even needed according to the club's sporting director Christian Heidel.

"It has not yet been decided whether we will get a new central defender," Heidel told WAZ and added:

"It's not like we are forced to put money in people's hands. We could also just leave some money in the account."

So far, Schalke have signed Suar Serdar (Mainz, €11 million), Omar Mascarell (Real Madrid, €10 million), Salif Sané (Hannover 96, €7 million), Steven Skrzybski (Union Berlin, €3,5 million) and Mark Uth (Hoffenheim, free transfer) this summer.
