Bayern München coach Hansi Flick gave an injury update on Jerome Boateng after Saturday's 4-1 win over Chelsea, which saw the German champions advance to the quarter-finals.

The German champions are hoping to have Jerome Boateng fit for Friday's clash with FC Barcelona after the centre-back limped off with an injury in the second half.

"I think that things are not quite so bad with Jérôme. That's the information I got from the medical department," Flick told reporters after the game.

Flick was also asked about Benjamin Pavard, who missed Saturday's game due to an ankle injury.

It has been suggested that the French defender might miss the remainder of the tournament, but Flick hasn't given up hope that he could feature in the one-game knockout format in Lisbon.

"'Benji' is adamant. He'll try all he can," Flick said.
