Report: Patrik Schick set to leave RB Leipzig as negotiations with Roma break down
It looks like RB Leipzig will have to say goodbye to Patrik Schick after failing to reach an agreement with his parent club, AS Roma.
Patrik Schick will be returning to AS Roma at the end of RB Leipzig's Champions League campaign, according to Bild.
RB Leipzig were hoping to reach an agreement that would see Schick stay on loan for a further year and give the Bundesliga side an option to tie him down to a permanent deal at the end of the season.
But their negotiations with Roma have now broken down, as per Bild, who claims the Serie A side don't want to send Schick out on loan again. Instead, they want to sell the striker, who has been priced at around €25 million, with Hertha BSC and several clubs from the Premier League said to be interested.
RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche, meanwhile, insists that Roma haven't withdrawn from the negotiations. However, he is willing to admit that the two clubs are struggling to reach an agreement.
"The situation hasn't changed for two or three weeks. We are still too far apart to find a solution," Krösche told Kicker on Tuesday.
Schick, 24, has scored 10 goals in 26 games for RB Leipzig.
