Valentino Lazaro linked with move to Gladbach

Inter's Valentino Lazaro is being touted for a move to Borussia-Park.
Borussia Mönchengladbach appear to be leading the race for the signature of Inter's Valentino Lazaro.

Having already confirmed the signing of Hannes Wolf on loan from RB Leipzig, 'Die Fohlen' are now looking into the possibility of bringing Lazaro to Borussia-Park, according to Kicker.

"We always said that the want to sign two players. We have signed one and are working on the second one," Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl told the German football magazine.

Just like Wolf, Lazaro played under Gladbach coach Marco Rose at RB Salzburg in the past, and it's now quite possible that he could be reunited with his former coach.

Bayer Leverkusen are also said to be interested in Lazaro, but Gladbach are considered front-runners in the chase for the Austrian international.

One thing is certain, however. Gladbach can't afford to sign the 24-year-old on a permanent deal. But he could arrive on loan, possibly with an option to buy.

Lazaro, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United, is capable of playing both as a full-back and as a winger.

Inter paid €22.4 million to sign the 24-year-old from Hertha BSC in 2019. His contract expires in 2023.
