Benjamin Pavard travels to Lisbon to join up with Bayern's Champions League squad

Benjamin Pavard could still have a role to play for Bayern München in the Champions League after jetting off to Portugal on Thursday.
Benjamin Pavard is set to join up with his Bayern München teammates after flying to Lisbon on Thursday, Sky Germany reports.

After initially staying in Munich to work on his recovery from an ankle injury, the 24-year-old will now get together with the rest of Bayern's Champions League squad.

Pavard was out on the training pitch for a short session on Wednesday, running the length of the pitch. It was suggested that the French international was forced to break off training, but he insists that wasn't the case.

"I was testing my boots yesterday. I'm fine," Pavard told Sky and added that he's still hoping to feature in the Champions League.

FC Bayern will be locking horns with FC Barcelona at the quarter-finals stage on Friday.
