Weston McKennie's move to Hertha falls through: Will Schalke look to sell Amine Harit instead?

Schalke 04 could look to sell Amine Harit after Weston McKennie's move to Hertha BSC fell through.
After Weston McKennie's proposed move to Hertha BSC has broken down, Schalke 04 could look to sell Amine Harit to raise money for new signings, according to Bild and Kicker.

McKennie is understood to have turned down a move to Hertha, because he sees his future in the English Premier League.

The 21-year-old could still be on the move before the end of the transfer window, although it remains to be seen whether a Premier League club will be willing to meet his €25 million price tag this summer.

Since it no longer looks like a transfer is just around the corner for McKennie, Schalke may look to offload one of their other prized assets such as Ozan Kabak or Amine Harit, because they need to sell to generate money for new signings.

Judging by what Harit said after Saturday's 4-5 defeat to German third division outfit SC Verl, it doesn't seem out of the question that he could find a new club before the start of the 2020/21 season.

"I'm currently here, training with the team every day. I'm 100 percent focused on Schalke 04, but I can't say what will happen next week," the attacking midfielder told reporters after the game.
