Lucas Tousart: Hertha can become the PSG of Germany

Lucas Tousart sees similarities between Paris Saint-Germain and Hertha BSC.
Hertha BSC newcomer Lucas Tousart believes his new club could go through a development similar to that of Paris Saint-Germain in France.

PSG have emerged as France's leading club with the help of Qatari investors, having won the Ligue 1 title in seven of the last eight years.

And with German businessman Lars Windhorst investing large sums in Hertha, Tousart feels the capital club could develop in a similar way.

"In principle, I think that's possible. About 10 years ago, before Paris won all the titles and played in the Champions League, they were a mediocre mid-table club in Ligue 1. Then they had a lot of money invested in them and brought in outstanding players: Verratti, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Neymar and Mbappé. They invested a lot," said Tousart, who has joined Hertha from Lyon, in an interview with Sport Bild.

"It's not really comparable at the moment, it's another dimension. But if Hertha continue to grow and are able to sign players with great class, they can become a club like Paris," he went on.

Asked why he wanted to join Hertha from Lyon, the central midfielder explained:

"It was important for me to try something new. I was in Lyon for five years, and things had come full circle for me. The Bundesliga attracted me a lot, and Hertha are a club with great ambitions."
