Ralf Fährmann set to be Schalke's first-choice goalkeeper for the 2020/21 season

Schalke 04 coach David Wagner will reportedly put faith in Ralf Fährmann for the upcoming season.
Ralf Fährmann has been told that he will be Schalke 04's first-choice goalkeeper for the 2020/21 season, according to Sport Bild.

After Fährmann lost his starting spot to Alexander Nübel during the 2018/19 campaign, he spent last season on loan at Norwich City and SK Brann.

With Nübel having departed for Bayern, the 31-year-old appear to have reclaimed the number one spot ahead of Markus Schubert, who failed to impress last season.

Schalke would have liked to bring in Alexander Schwolow from Freiburg, but after the 28-year-old opted to sign for Hertha instead, Fährmann has reportedly been informed that he will once again be the number one for the Gelsenkirchen side.

Fährmann has made a total of 234 appearances for Schalke.
