Jude Bellingham doesn't want to be compared with Gerrard or Lampard

Jude Bellingham has been likened to former England internationals Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, but says he isn't interested in being compared to others.
Borussia Dortmund newcomer Jude Bellingham says he doesn't want to be compared with England legends Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

The 17-year-old, who recently joined Dortmund from Birmingham City, wants to make a name for himself and isn't interested in comparisons to others.

"I'm the first Jude Bellingham, and I don't want to be compared with Gerrard or Lampard. They were undoubtedly great players, but I have other qualities. I'm a different player and a different person," Bellingham told Sportbuzzer.

Dortmund paid a whopping €26,5 million to bring Bellingham to Germany, but the young midfielder insists his hefty price tag will not weigh on his shoulders.

"To be honest, I don't feel any pressure. The pressure I put on myself is great than any price tag," said Bellingham and added:

"You have to be confident, especially when you join a new club. I want to keep learning here and reach a new level in all departments.

"I'm hoping to play as many minutes as possible - even in the big games. I would like to make assists, score goals and put in good performances."
