19-year-old Jacob Bruun Larsen has seized his chance at Dortmund

19-year-old Jacob Bruun Larsen has been very impressive during Borussia Dortmund's pre-season despite initially asking for permission to leave the club.
The big winner of Borussia Dortmund's pre-season has arguably been 19-year-old Dane Jacob Bruun Larsen.

Bruun Larsen, who spent the second half of last season on loan at VfB Stuttgart, has scored four times in friendlies during pre-season and was even in the starting eleven in Dortmund's last test match before the new season against Lazio last Sunday.

However, after returning from his loan spell at Stuttgart, Bruun Larsen apparently wanted to leave the club.

According to Bild, the winger sat down with his agent and Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc in late June - before new coach Lucien Favre took up office - to discuss his future.

Bruun Larsen didn't believe in his chance at the BVB and asked to leave, but Zorc wanted to hold onto him as he would like Favre to the opportunity to take a look at the youngster first.

Since then, Bruun Larsen has been very convincing, and he says that he thrives with playing under Lucien Favre.

"Mr. Favre gave me some details and information about the possibilities that I have on the pitch. I like that, because you learn a lot from it. We have great quality in the squad which makes you better every day," Bruun Larsen told Bild.

Bruun Larsen could be in the line-up when Dortmund face Greuter Fürth in the DFB-Pokal on Monday.

The 19-year-old made four appearances for Stuttgart last season and has previously featured in two official games for Dortmund.
