Report: Leverkusen in talks with AS Roma over deal for Patrik Schick

Bayer Leverkusen could beat RB Leipzig to the signing of AS Roma striker Patrik Schick.
Bayer Leverkusen are in talks with AS Roma over a potential deal for Patrik Schick, according to reputable transfer specialists Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio.

'Die Werkself', who are also being linked with Schick by German sources, are understood to be on the verge of selling Kai Havertz to Chelsea in a deal worth €100 million including bonuses, and it now appears they want to use part of that money to sign the 24-year-old.

Schick spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig, who would like to keep him, but the Bundesliga side haven't been willing to meet AS Roma's reported asking price of €25-30 million.

Therefore, Leverkusen could now beat their Bundesliga rivals to the signing of the Czech international, who has reportedly attracted interest from Fulham as well.

Schick scored 10 goals in 28 games for RB Leipzig last season.
