'Nothing on the table' for Josip Brekalo amid Napoli links, claims Wolfsburg boss
Wolfsburg boss Marcel Schäfer insists there is no offer on the table for Josip Brekalo amid reported interest from SSC Napoli.
Josip Brekalo has been touted for a move away from VfL Wolfsburg this summer, with SSC Napoli reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the 22-year-old.
So far, however, Wolfsburg are yet to receive an offer for the Croatian international, claims sporting director Marcel Schäfer.
"There's nothing on the table," Schäfer told Sportbuzzer.
Wolfsburg coach Oliver Glasner is crossing his fingers it will be possible to hold on to the attacking midfielder.
"I'm not the sole decision maker. But, of course, that we need Josip's quality," Glasner said and added:
"It's clear that everyone at the club want Josip to stay here."
Brekalo scored both goals and Wolfsburg beat Holstein Kiel 2-0 in a friendly on Saturday.
