RB Leipzig boss denies Rudy deal: 'The mother of all fake news'

RB Leipzig boss Ralf Rangnick has denied that Sebastian Rudy has signed a contract with the club.
Yesterday, the Südwestrundfunk (SWR) claimed that Bayern München midfielder Sebastian Rudy has signed a deal with RB Leipzig.

However, that is definitely not the case according to RB Leipzig head coach and sporting director Ralf Rangnick who insists the story is a hoax.

"What was distributed by the SWR is the mother of all fake news. How you can spew that out is remarkable. When it was announced, I thought: 'the 1st of April'," Rangnick said according to Funke Sport.

After SWR's report was published yesterday, Sport Bild claimed that the two clubs haven't even negotiated yet.

According to Rangnick, Rudy still hasn't decided if he wants to leave Bayern. And even in that case, that doesn't mean that he will join RB Leipzig.

"If the decision is made, he would also have to choose to join us. There are other interested parties on the market," Rangnick said according to Sport Bild.

Rudy, 28, has also been linked with a move to Schalke 04.
