Kovac has given Rudy permission to leave

Bayern München coach Niko Kovac says that Sebastian Rudy is free to leave the club.
Sebastian Rudy has been heavily linked with a move away from Bayern München lately with RB Leipzig and Schalke 04 said to be interested in the midfielder.

Now, Bayern München coach Niko Kovac has told Sport1 that he won't put any obstacles in the way if Rudy wants to make the switch to a new club.

"Sebastian has played with us for a year. We'll see what happens in the coming season. Of course he wants to play a lot - and we have a lot of midfielders," Kovac told Sport1.

Previously, Bayern München sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said that he had given Rudy permission to talk to other clubs. Apparently, the 28-year-old met with Schalke 04 coach Domenico Tedesco at the airport in München last Tuesday.

Rudy joined Bayern München from Hoffenheim in 2017 and has made 35 appearances for the club with one goal and five assists to his name. The midfielder has played 25 matches for the German national team, scoring one goal.
